Your First Appointment
Every new patient begins with an Initial Consultation and comprehensive dental assessment. Your appointment includes a one-on-one consultation with your dentist, a comprehensive examination, clinical photography and an iTero digital 3D scan of your mouth.
This allows us to establish a detailed baseline of your oral health and discuss any findings with you before developing recommendations for your care. Depending on your individual needs, further diagnostic imaging or assessments may be recommended.

Advanced Digital Diagnostics
iTero Digital 3D Scanning & NIRI Technology – No Radiation
Our iTero digital scanner creates a detailed 3D digital model of your teeth and bite without the use of radiation, allowing you to clearly visualise what is happening in your own mouth.
The scanner also incorporates Near-Infrared Imaging (NIRI) technology, which uses near-infrared light to assist your dentist in detecting and monitoring certain areas of concern, including interproximal caries (decay between the teeth) — without ionising radiation.
During your consultation, your dentist can review your 3D iTero scan and NIRI images with you to highlight areas of concern, assess your bite and tooth position, monitor changes over time and discuss potential treatment options. It is a powerful diagnostic, communication and treatment-planning tool that allows you to see what your dentist sees and be more involved in understanding your oral health.
3D CBCT Imaging
Where clinically indicated, we also offer 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging in-house.
CBCT provides detailed three-dimensional information about the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures that conventional dental X-rays cannot always show. It may assist in investigating dental infections, cavitations, impacted teeth, bone health, TMJ (jaw joint) concerns, airway and sinus health, and is also utilised for ceramic dental implant planning.
As part of our biological philosophy, diagnostic imaging is recommended only when clinically appropriate, with consideration given to minimising unnecessary radiation exposure.

Biological Dentistry & Dr Dome
Our dentists incorporate biological and holistic principles into their approach to assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning, considering both oral health and its relationship with overall wellbeing.
We also welcome patients who have been referred through or are familiar with Dr Dominik Nischwitz (Dr Dome) and are seeking biological dental care in Melbourne. Dr Kevin Lee works closely with these patients to coordinate their dental assessment, appropriate investigations and treatment planning at Laser and Holistic Dental.
Where clinically indicated, this may include 3D CBCT imaging and further investigation of areas of concern identified through your examination or referral.
